We are new NP39 Owners and have a fair amount of time onboard.
WRT Fuel Burn - we like to set the throttle at 1800 - 1950 RPM for 7 - 8.5 Kts and burn between 3.5 and 4.4 GPH with our 230HP QSB 5.9 Engine. The engine is very smooth in this range - particularly near the 1800 RPM range. WOT is 2600 RPM and 11GPH.
WRT Storage - there is tons of storage and we are pleased with it. Drawers under the bed are deep and tall for plenty of items. The storage lockers are plenty tall for standard pants / shirts, but would not accommodate a dress hung full length. I would not expect that kind of space on a boat this size. Overall there is extensive storage space very near to the master that augments what is directly inside the master. Just outside the master door to port is excellent storage for the MAster and the Head.
WRT clearing your head under the overhang - even after adding a 2" foam pad and pillows we have not had a problem. It requires a little thought to take care to clear the overhang but it does not require contortion or special manuevers to avoid it.
We love the boat overall for her handling manners, layout and looks. See the May issue of SEA magazine for photos and more comments.
